At Coffs Harbour Challenge we believe that our community is enriched by the diversity of its people, including those with disabilities. We also believe that people with disabilities have the same rights as other community members. We work to ensure that our people are integrated into a community who recognise them only for their abilities.

Coffs Challenge is a community-based organisation that assists people with a disability to achieve positive outcomes in their lives – increased independence, employment opportunities, and meaningful participation in the community. This is done through a number of programmes.

Coffs Challenge Community Links runs skills for life workshops, transition to work, community access and active participation programmes.

Coffs Challenge’s core programmes involve providing work for people who need support to gain and retain employment. These employment activities happen in businesses that Challenge owns and operates.

Coffs Challenge has been providing services to the Coffs Coast for more than 50 years. The organisation was initially set up by parents who wanted to ensure their sons and daughters had access to education and employment. Initial employment opportunities were provided through a sheltered workshop facility. This has changed to a business model which provides paid meaningful employment to people with a disability.
By providing real opportunities in locations about Coffs Harbour, we continue to assist people with disabilities to actively participate in community life.

Coffs Challenge is an Australian Disability Enterprise contracted to the Commonwealth Department of Family, Housing, Community Services and Indigenous Affairs to provide supported employment for people with a disability. Coffs Challenge is also contracted to the NSW Department of Ageing, Disability and Home Care to provide Transition to Work programs for school leavers.

Coffs Harbour Challenge supports the National Disability Insurance Scheme.
